PROCEDURES & TREATMENTS
- Cryosurgery for the Cervix: performed in case of symptomatic cervical ectropion causing vaginal spotting or recurrent infections. The procedure is done after Pap smear evaluation of the cervix, and in some cases a cervical biopsy. One technique that might be advised is cervical cryosurgery. A portion of the cervix is frozen during this highly effective gynaecological treatment.
- Colposcopy: The cervix, vagina, and vulva can all be more thoroughly examined with a colposcopy, a non-surgical diagnostic procedure. When a person has a Pap smear that is abnormal, further evaluation is needed. A healthcare professional performs the procedure while using a colposcope, a magnifying device and applies special solutions to reveal abnormalities. During this process, if anything seems concerning, targeted biopsy is collected.
